Apologies and Thank You

When writing a book with 350 plus pages, full of names, places, facts and figures it is inevitable that errors will occur. Despite hundreds of hours of proof-reading and fact-checking, a few of these errors have been bought to our attention.
Firstly, apologies for any mistakes that we have made, particularly with the spelling of names. We understand this can be upsetting for the people concerned, so please accept our sincere apologies where this has been the case.
Secondly, thank you to those who have highlighted errors and clarified information contained in the book. We would prefer to know about these errors and rectify them. The authors make an undertaking that any errors or omissions will be noted in the Updates section of www.cazzieconnection.com.au and will be rectified for future editions of the Cazzie Connection book.

Allan Cresswell was incorrectly spelt Alan a number of times in the book. Apologies to Allan.

We inadvertently merged the listings of two Cazzies, both named Andrew Jackomos. Correct listings should be:

Andrew Jackomos (son of Angelo) [Sport Section]
Commonwealth Games Silver Medal winner in 1974 and Australian champion on 1 metre springboard, 3 metre springboard and 10 metre platform on numerous occasions from 1975 to 1982.
Please note: This is a different Andrew Jackomos to the one listed in the Politics and Government Section.

Andrew Morgan Jackomos PSM (son of Alick) (VIC) [Politics and Government Section]
Executive Director at Aboriginal Economic Development Victoria; Inaugural Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People in Victoria; Awarded the Public Service Medal 2006 and admitted as a Victorian Fellow with the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA). In 2013, he was appointed as an IPAA National Fellow.
Please note: This is a different Andrew Jackomos to the one listed in the Sport Section.

The naming of Jackomos Street was attributed to Alick Jackomos. It was, in fact, named after both Alick and his wife, Merle, a First Nations woman who was a high achiever in her own right. Also, Jackomos Street is in the ACT, not Melbourne.
There is also a Barbouttis Street in Townsville named after WWII hero Corporal Angelo Barbouttis.

The logo for the Kastellorizian Club of Victoria has now changed to:

The Megisteon Heritage Society was short-lived and only operated from 2012-2014.

The Empire Patrol Memorial was commissioned by Friends of Kastellorizo (formerly known as Australian Friends of Kastellorizo) who worked with the Municipality of Megisti and the artist, Alexandros Zygouris.

The books ‘Journey to a New Land: Castellorizian Migration Stories Vol 1 & 2’, are listed as being compiled by just three people, however, the attribution should be ‘History and Archives Committee CANSW’. Likewise, page 289.

Page 283
www.instagram.com/kassieq is not the Kastellorizian Association of Queensland Instagram page.

Page 288
Marilyn Tsolakis was incorrectly spelt Marylin on page 288 and 313. (Apologies to Marilyn)

Allan Cresswell is also the Administrator of the Castellorizian Genealogy Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/311068092238055

Florence Livery is the Archivist of the Kastellorizian Association of Victoria. This archival collection includes manuscripts, letters, photographs, moving image and sound materials, artwork, books, diaries, artefacts, and the digital equivalents of these things.
Florence was erroneously identified as the ‘curator’ of the Castellorizian Genealogy Facebook Group instead of ‘contributor’. The Administrator is Allan Cresswell (Apologies to Florence and Allan).
She does not claim expertise in the area of Cazzie customs or traditions.
She was also given equal credit for the book "80 Xponia 1925-2005: Celebrating our History, Kastellorizian Association of Victoria" along with three others. Please note that credit for this book should be given to Jasmin Verginis who was the writer and managing editor. Florence Livery and Sandra Wyatt wrote the foreword whilst Connie Gregory contributed some articles.
Apologies to Florence, Allan, Jasmin, Sandra, Connie and anyone else who may have been concerned by the original listing.

Page 289
Connie Gregory does not share the Archivist role with Florence Livery as intimated by her description as a “curator of history and artefacts.”
